Elks Americanism Essay contest winners honored

The Mountain Home Elks Lodge #1714 recently honored the Pinkston Middle School sixth-grade winners of the 2015 Elks Americanism Essay Contest at an awards assembly. More than 200 essays were entered with the theme "What I Can Do to Promote Americanism and Love of Country." The top three winners received a check for $100 each from the Elks Lodge and their essays will be forwarded for state and national judging. More than 270 students between fifth and eighth grades at Coronado Middle School in Catalina participated in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Americanism Essay Contest.
